E-Government And Digital Health Systems For Sustainable Healthcare Delivery In Nigeria
Main Article Content
Abstract
Innovative digital health technologies and e-government networks are transforming Nigeria's
healthcare system. Nigerian healthcare infrastructure may evolve to solve persistent issues,
including limited access, inefficiency, data fragmentation, and poor service delivery, by adopting
digital health systems. Despite these advances, infrastructural gaps, fragmented systems, and poor
interoperability hinder digital health's accessibility, especially in rural areas. This study examines
Nigerian e-government and digital health, reviews existing implementations, and recommends
ways to enhance healthcare delivery. The work studies Nigerian laws, digital governance,
initiatives, and international best practices through doctrinal and policy research. The findings
underscore the need for robust infrastructure, structured data governance systems, improved
financing, and standardised cybersecurity standards to provide inclusive, safe, and efficient
stakeholder involvement and policy support for sustainable digital health care delivery. This study
concludes by proposing an integrative framework model that emphasises the need to restructure
legal frameworks, support digital health systems, health providers, and patients, and improve
healthcare service delivery in Nigeria to match global standards.
